Applied Rhythm:

Group Music Classes for Team Building & Stress Relief

“The most fun you’ll ever have at lunch.”

What This Is

Live, high energy, facilitator-led group music sessions; intentionally curated to teach you music fundamentals while having fun with your coworkers. No musical experience necessary! The facilitator teaches your team simple rhythmic exercises, using percussion instruments, and has them playing along to songs, to build communication, camaraderie, and morale in a way a normal meeting can't. Our classes help:

  • Reduces stress, break up meeting fatigue

  • Build real collaboration skills (listening, timing, vulnerability)

  • Intended for total beginners; zero musical background necessary

  • Fits into an existing meeting, retreat, or wellness day

  • Classes are typically on-site (your location), but can be off-site (my location), or virtual

About the Facilitator

Michael Malinowski is a music educator and performer, currently getting his Masters in Music Education at ODU. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Michael has been a full-time educator and performer for 15+ years, performing at some of the biggest venues in LA, with artists such as Blue Man Group and Sheila E. He has also done numerous tours with Rock and Pop bands. Michael has taught in almost every setting you can think of, from private lessons to middle schools, to group classes at psychiatric hospitals for patients with criminal charges.

Moving to Hampton Roads for his family, he is now focused on delivering these group classes to a diverse demographic - including business employees, memory care units, and children with disabilities.

With his versatile experience, he has seen and implemented different strategies and exercises that have proven results, not just for one specific demographic, but for humans, in general, to learn and grow.
